Ardkinglas sheep dog trials were held at Cairndow, near the head of Loch Fyne, on Saturday.  Despite the unsettled weather conditions in the forenoon a large number of spectators were present, from mid Argyll and Cowal, including Sir John and Lady Noble, of Ardkinglas; Mr Michael and Miss Anastasia Noble, Lady Elspeth Campbell, Sir Norman Lamont of Knockdow, Lady Campbell of Strachur.  Mr Scott of Eredine, General Hendry, Garelochhead; Major and Mrs Dugdale, Captain George I. Campbell of Succoth; Miss Olive Campbell of Inverneill; and Colonel T. D. Lloyd of Minard.

The trials resulted:- J.D. Sinclair, Brenchoillie, with Tweed; 2. Dan White, Earlton, Trim; 3. D. MacCallum, Park, Mirk; 4. William McNeill, Nell; 5. James Henderson, Strathlachlan, Prince; 6. H. Morrison, Beach, collie; 7. R. Robert Thomson, Auchdai, Unan, Bess; 8 d. Nicolson, Glenmoss, Jip; 9. Angus Campbell, Auchandunan, Tweed; 10. James Waddell, St Catherine’s, Bess.
